    GIVC 2010

I was in Riviera Maya, Mexico last week and wanted to tell you all about the two properties I stayed at while there.
The first resort which hosted our GIVC awards was the Eldorado Royale. I have stayed at this property several times before, but love it more and more each time I go. They are constantly changing things and this year they are going to upgrade most of the rooms. I got to stay in one of the Ocean Front Jacuzzi Junior Suites in building 5. What a great location, right by the beach, restaurants, and relatively close to the lobby. They have a shuttle that comes around quite often to take you wherever you need to go on the property!
I have eaten at all the restaurants and honestly I like them all.
I got to experience my first beach front massage. What a treat. The weather was so beautiful and the sound of the waves made it even that more relaxing.
Our agency received an award the last night at the Eldorado Royale. We are a Diamond Level producer for the Karisma chain, so it was a very exciting night for us.

The last night we were in Mexico we switched hotels to the Eldorado Maroma. All I can say is “WOW”. This resort exceeded all my expectations. We stayed in an Infinity Pool Ocean View Room. These rooms are HUGE with a lovely living room! It had a bed on the patio and an outdoor shower.  The beach is amazing, powdery white sand with the blue water inviting you in for a dip to cool off.  I can’t rave enough about this resort. The food and service was exceptional.  If I was to rate this hotel it would get 5 stars…..I can’t wait to go back!

    Until next time……

    Vacations

Just got back from Sunny Key Largo and thought I would write a short blog about my experience!!
When we arrived, we rented a convertible from Dollar, but they didn’t have any in stock so they gave us a 2010 Chevy Camero. Not bad I guess, at least we didn’t have to pay extra for it! We left the airport and headed down Hwy 1 to avoid paying tolls. BIG MISTAKE. Pay the $3 or $4 dollars and take the Toll Road, you will get there a lot sooner!
The Marriott was such a wonderful property! When we arrived they had fresh cookies for us and ice water in the lobby. We were upgraded to a Bay View with a balcony without even asking.

Rooms: We got a room with 2 queen beds. It was perfect. Not to big, not to small. Very clean. Beds were super comfortable, I wanted to take the pillows home with me!
Beach and Pool: The pool was really nice; it even had a hot tub that was connected to it. The hot tub was nice to get in at night! The Beach was a little small but was perfect to me. The water was very clear but there was a lot of that sea weed a few feet out from shore. Great for snorkeling!
Restaurants and Bars: We ate at Gus’ Grill one day for lunch and the sandwiches were yummy! The bar by the pool was refreshing during the day. But my favorite was the Tiki Bar. The two bartenders we had were Lena and Mario. Super friendly people and they gave us great tips for places to eat. There was a guy (I think his name was Jimmy Ray) that was playing music there that night that was really good. He looks a lot like Eddie Murphy.
All and All this property is highly recommended by me.

We did eat at three different restaurants when we were down there. The first night we got there we ate at Sundowners. It was practically right next door which made it very convenient. Once we arrived we were in for a wonderful treat, it has been rated the best place to watch a sunset in all of Key Largo. The food was excellent too. I had Pasta and my husband had Salmon.
Then the next morning we ate at Docs Diner for breakfast. This is definitely a locals place. Best breakfast I have had in a long time. Order the Biscuits and Gravy.
That evening we ate at Snappers. This place is very unique. We all ordered seafood here and it was all fabulous. You must order the alligator for your appetizer. If you want to see pictures of the Marriott and other spots in Key Largo find us on Facebook!

    Las Vegas

What a wonderful time I recently had in Las Vegas.  I have to admit when I booked my trip I was a little concerned about the hotel that they put us up at, but once I got there I was amazed.  They had us stay at the RIO, its an all suite property and was very beautiful.  The rooms were spacious and the food was delicious.  I attended 3 full days of training and felt the business and convention part of my trip was handled very professionally.  I did get to spend a few hours by the pool and let me tell you the pools were very inviting. There is an actual beach into one of the pools and several waterfalls. They even have a topless section for those a little daring then myself.  One night during my stay they invited us to a wine tasting at the Wine Cellar inside the RIO.  This place was full of over 50,000 bottles of select wines.  It was so much fun to see the Las Vegas skyline from the Voodoo Lounge several nights.  This bar was so much fun that I will send all my clients to it.  One of the last nights we were there we went to the Las Vegas Boulevard to see the fountain show in front of the Bellagio, while standing there a man approached us and gave us free tickets into Prive’, a night club inside of Planet Hollywood. While enjoying a few adult beverages and dancing we saw several famous people enjoying the night also….P Diddy (Sean Combs), Nikki Hilton, Jonah Hill, and Jermaine Dupre. So if you want to brush shoulders with someone famous you might think about stopping in at this club during your visit.
